Have you heard about Panama Papers or Football Leaks? Have you been fascinated by the power of publication in so many countries at once while you also where overwhelmed by the complexity of the journalistic work? Don't despair! Cross-border collaborative journalism can be broken down into a series of seven methodological steps, each of them fascinating by itself (and potentially useful for other journalistic work), and each of them replicable, once you get an understanding of it. In this presentation Brigitte Alfter will give you an overview over the 7 steps of the cross-border collaborative journalism method and short introductions to some of these steps. She will present some examples of cross-border collaborative research and explain obstacles and solutions.
